Mission

A community-based, not-for-profit environment group the Alternative Technology Association (ATA) promotes sustainable lifestyles, in particular renewable energy and energy and water conservation.

Alternatives in Action

The Sydney West branch of the Association is based at Hawkesbury EarthCare Centre where it organises educational seminars and offers practical demonstrations. ATA is a national organisation with members' groups meeting in each state and territory.

National Headquarters

ATA's national office is at Level 1, 39 Little Collins St, Melbourne VIC 3000.

The ATA also has a workshop in the solar and wind powered building at the CERES Environment Park at East Brunswick, Victoria. See the CERES website.

Do-it-Yourself Help

DIY booklets and technical advice are available with membership of ATA. The resources help householders understand and apply sustainable technology in domestic settings. A range of books and publications can be ordered through ATA's publishing service - check catalogue on the national website.

Membership

Membership of ATA is $65 p.a. (inc GST) and includes the quarterly ReNew magazine.

Meetings

Bi-monthly meetings are held on the first Saturday of the month at 10.00 am (from February).

ReNew Magazine

ATA produces the popular ReNew magazine.

 

ATA membership includes a subscription to ReNew magazine. The magazine is available to non-members nationally from newsagencies or from ATA by subscription at $30 p.a.
